MoMA Tower Apartment
MoMA Tower, New York, 2026
This luxury apartment renovation sits high up in the MoMA Tower on 53rd Street in Manhattan. The driving forces of this property are the views and its proximity to many of the city’s iconic buildings and sights. The apartment spans approximately 4,000 square feet and has 360-degree views of Manhattan. Spectacular views are primarily to the south, with slices of Central Park in unexpected places.
The project evolved with close collaboration from the client. The renovation consisted of surgical interventions throughout to render a refined textural feel to existing finishes and materials. Except for the Kitchen and bathrooms, all rooms were fitted with wallcovering fabrics with intricately yet subtly woven patterns. Special care was taken in keeping the textured walls in neutral colors. These walls become enhanced by the warm hues produced by the lighting. The Ingo Mauer light fixtures used throughout the apartment transform what appears to be simple into sculptural spaces with a touch of whimsical spirit.
The furniture was carefully selected to fit within the main building design aesthetic. With the Tower being designed by Jean Nouvel, it was only natural to select from the Nouvel collection by Molteni & C, along with other pieces from Molteni’s master collection.
